Add to basketNo Binding. Condition: Good. An original press photograph of Manolete in action in the ring, quite probably taken by the renowned Colombian photographer Leo Matiz. The photograph is stamped at the verso - "Foto Leo Matiz" with his printed telephone number below. It is possible that the address of his studio in Mexico City is als…o included in the stamp but the text has faded and is obscured by by an ink inscription (see accompanying images). Two other stamps indicating use of the photograph and a further ink inscription in an unknown hand. Serial number in pencil to the bottom but not signed anywhere. Measuring approximately 5 inches by 8.25 inches (13cm x 21cm), the print is in fairly Good overall condition. On photographic paper, gloss finish. A very tiny area of lift or creasing at the bottom right corner. Some finger-marking to the verso and light staining. While original press photographs of Manolete are not super-scarce, examples from the lens of Leo Matiz are extremely rare and highly desirable records of the life of the legendary bullfighter.
