Hugh Alexander Macpherson (1858-1901) was a clergyman, a noted zoologist and a Member of the British Ornithologists' Union. His 'The Vertebrate Fauna of Lakeland,' suggested by, and following the main lines of, Harvie-Brown and Buckley's series of faunas of the Scottish areas, is probably his best known work. The book is bound in the original green cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine. The case of the book is in very good condition although a previous owner has covered the board and spine in clear sticky-backed plastic. The contents are tight and clean with a name written on the front free endpaper.PLEASE NOTE: This is a fairly heavy book and extra postage may apply for delivery outside the UK.
