Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. The cover has green cloth with orange and gold lettering. 23 chapters; graytone frontispiece; 3 color, fold-out maps; genealogy of the Ottoman sultans; index. The top end of the spine strip is wrinkled and a little frayed; the bottom edge is less so. The cloth has small, loosened spots along part of two edges of the front board. The text block ends have darkened from shelf wear. A corner of the frontispiece is wrinkled. Scans e-mailed upon request.

Condition: Fair. 1912. First Published. 391 pages. No dust jacket. This is an ex-Library book. Red cloth with gilt. Library copy, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages are moderately tanned and occasionally foxed throughout. Minor pencil marking to front free end-paper. End papers are more notably foxed. Text block edge is moderately foxed. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering has become dull. Moderate tanning to spine. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Damp staining to bottom of front board.
