De allí el interés en esbozar una teoría de la pantalla que considere los acuer…dos entre el sujeto que ve y el sujeto que es visto, las metamorfosis en transiciones mediáticas, las incursiones del espacio de ficción en otro espacio diferente pero que, puesto en pantalla, disgregado o concentrado en sitios, es asediado y ocupado por la imitación, la reproducción, por el copioso frenesí de la copia. 'Medios, pantallas y otros lugares comunes' se ocupa, así, de "la plenitud de la visión que ofician las redes sinfín, y que hace visible la letra, como si por la tecnología se retornara al origen icónico de la escritura, de la letra al ideograma, de la lectura a la visión y se remitiera, desde el nuevo mundo de las pantallas, a uno más arcano y arcaico, celebrando en la escritura los milagros de la vista, o la maravilla de mirar que, al restituir la 'unidad' del acontecimiento estético, concilia la Idea, la forma visible de la reflexión, en el milagro regular y secular de la pantalla".
