Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book provides an overview of Governor Morton's first annual message to the New York State Legislature. The address detailed the state of various departments under his jurisdiction, including the insane and prison systems, and discussed a range of policy concerns including the state prison labor system, canal improvement, civil service reform, the excise question, and the preservation of the Adirondacks. The author's insights into the social, economic, and political issues facing New York in the 1890s provide valuable historical context for understanding the development of the state during this period. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
