Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Do you remember how quickly those music books from your childhood, got complicated and difficult to follow? As New York professional music teacher Michael Miller says, "As a Musician and Instructor, I have found that music theory books tend to be cumbersome and complicated at best. Even the simplest of concepts can be made unnecessarily difficult with pretentious vocabulary." Welcome to a fresh, new approach! Music Theory Grade 1 is a ground-breaking, first year theory book from Brooklyn music teacher Julia Amisano. It's intended for very young children (4-6 years of age) and also grownups who have always wanted to learn to read and write music. The emphasis here is making music reading and writing accessible for all, and - for once - fun! First year Piano and Theory students should use Music Theory Grade 1 in conjunction with private or group music lessons. This book covers the lines and spaces of the Treble and Bass clefs, along with the values of Quarter notes, Half notes, Dotted Half notes and Whole notes in 4/4 time. There are worksheets within the book, which allow students to practice writing and reading music. And younger students will love the fun coloring exercises that are included. "This book is great for young hands and adults alike. It's a rare combination: extremely useful and very easy to understand. I wish I had this book when I was learning, however all of my students certainly will! I'd recommend this book to teacher or student, for a fun, easy way to teach or learn the most important concepts for not only piano, but music as a whole!" - Michael Miller This item is printed on demand.
