De missie van het Corpus Christianorum is de studie en bekendmaking van voornamelijk christelijke teksten uit de patristische periode (circa 150-750 na Christus) en de middeleeuwen (circa 750-1500 na Christus). Deze bijdrage bundelt de toespraken die werden gehouden ter gelegenheid van de inhuldiging. Als evenzovele stukjes gekleurd glas werpen zij licht op telkens een ander aspect van het Sint-Annaconvent en zijn huidige bewoners. Achtereenvolgens komen zo aan bod: de historische relatie tussen Corpus Christianorum en Brepols en de nieuwe huisvesting in het Turnhoutse Begijnhof (Jean-Louis de Cartier), de academische leiding van de reeks en de digitale ontsluiting van Latijnse teksten (Rita Beyers en Paul Tombeur), de Corpus Christianorum-bibliotheek als erfgoed- en bewaarbibliotheek (An Renard), het historische kader van de nieuwe locatie (Harry de Kok) en tenslotte de inhoud en het belang van de bibliotheek (Paul De Jongh). Turris fortitudinis, letterlijk 'toren van sterkte', of nog 'bergtop' of 'woontent' (Psalm 60, 4), is de symbolische benaming van het geschenk dat de Sint-Pietersabdij van Steenbrugge, waar het Corpus Christianorum werd gesticht, en het Corpus Christianorum Bibliotheek & Kenniscentrum in het Turnhoutse Begijnhof, waar het een nieuw onderkomen vond, in december 2006 uitwisselden bij de overgang van de ene naar de andere locatie.
