Unpaged - 12 pages including covers. Staple-bound paperback booklet: H 14cm x L 10.75cm. Light vertical crease at booklet's center; foxing and soiling to covers; past owner's ink signature and personal blind-stamp to front cover as well; slight foxing at gutter margins of interior pages which otherwise remain clean. Binding is firm. Scarce gubernatorial campaign booklet for the vile bigot Ross Barnett with the booklet offering the candidate's eight primary campaign policy points and promises, the first of which is his absolute advocacy for segregation. "Introduction" on pages 2-3 by State Campaign manager John E. Gregg. Pages 11-12 feature the poem "Let Me Live in a House by the Side of the Road" by New England poet Sam Walter Foss which was first published in 1897. Although undated presumably this booklet was published circa 1959 preceding Barnett's successful Democratic party nomination and election to Mississippi's governorship (in office January 19, 1960 to January 21, 1964). Barnett unsuccessfully ran in the Democratic primaries in 1951 and 1955 but, as the booklet's text cites the May 1954 Black Monday Supreme Court decision, there is a slight possibility the booklet may have been issued for Barnett's 1955 campaign. OCLC only locates a single institutional holding (University of Mississippi).

Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. Still Our Story: A Love Story Interrupted by Dementia explores the true, love story of John and Jan Foss, their daughters, and close family, as they encounter the hardships and heartache brought on by dementia. Jan was a loving spouse, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and teacher, whose passion and warmth touched many lives. This story is more than a recollection of memories, it is a gift to readers who may find themselves in similar circumstances. Let the Foss's experience demonstrate the strength of love, hope, and the reality of living with dementia and its impact on family. About the AuthorsJohn E. Foss obtained his Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Minnesota. He spent several years teaching and conducting research at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, North Dakota State University, University of Maryland, and the University of Tennessee. Additionally Foss has written a myriad of research publications on soil-geological interpretations of archeological sites and soil science. In his spare time, when he is not with his daughters or grandchildren, Foss enjoys golfing, fishing, photography, writing, and traveling. Pamela Masterman is the mother of three adult children and grandmother of three. She is an independent businesswoman in the area of financial management who has spent much of her free time volunteering for causes dear to her heart. Patricia Foss-Bennie recently retired from a career in association management and consults as brand manager for the Maryland Forestry Foundation. Her career included event management and serving as editor-in-chief for the magazine of the Maryland Municipal League. The Foss family cherishes their close relationships with one another. They hope by sharing their experiences while reluctantly learning to travel the road of dementia, others may benefit. Even though they know that each family's journey will be unique, they hope sharing the nurture, love, advice, and understanding gained on their path can make another's journey easier.
