Wraps. v, [1], 21, [1] p.; 23 cm. Endnotes. From an on-line posting: "The Goldwater-Nichols Defense Reorganization Act requires the President to submit an annual report on the National Security Strategy. In theory, a formal presentation of grand strategy was intended to lend coherence to the budgeting process; a clear statement of interests, objectives, and concepts for achieving them gave Congress a clear idea of the resources required to support the President's strategy. Dr. Don Snider is Professor Emeritus of Political Science at West Point, NY, . He is currently Professor of Army Profession and Ethic in the Strategic Studies Institute, U.S. Army War College, Carlisle, PA. Dr. Snider served on the staff of the National Security Council. Dr. Snider s research examines American civil-military relations, the identities and development of the American Army officer, military professions, and professional military ethics." Very good. No dust jacket. Cover has slight wear and soiling. 2nd edition [stated]. Presumed first printing. Kistler, James D. (Cover Artist) (illustrator).

Stevengraph style machine embroidered scene of the main expo building at center.Condition:A bit toned; light wear; very good.Historian's PerspectiveRobert Vitz - "Cincinnati was struggling with its obvious decline as the major city of the West, and saw in its industrial fairs, as well as in its cultural instituions, an opportunity to stake its claim as the "Paris of America," the major inland cultural center in the nation. Since 1888 was the city's centennial year, this particular fair reflected the city's hopes for the future. Unfortunately for the city, it was too little and too late. Since the 1888 exposition was meant to be regional, I can only look at the "national response" from a regional perspective. Most of the nation had little interest in the Cincinnati Centennial regardless of how important it was to area residents. Pretty much a "copy cat" of other fairs and expositions. People in the region (but they are part of the nation) endorsed the theme.".
