    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Fawn paper to boards with brown title to front. Black cloth at spine, with gilt lettering. Previous owner's name inked on front end paper. Also inked onto front end paper is inscription ' To Dr. Buist Dundee with compliments from J Leiper Gemmill 26th Sept 1928'. The book was published by his brother, J Leiper Gemmill, two years after the author's death, apparently by suicide, in 1926. J Leiper wrote the preface to the book, and signed the presentation. Dr Buist is likely to be Dr. John Charles Buist of the Dundee textile producing company. Signed Presentation Copy.

Paper on the front board is worn away at the top and bottom and edge, exposing the cardboard. However the book is in excellent condition otherwise, with no markings or inscriptions, and light sporadic foxing. The contents include a preface by the author's brother, and the text of an undelivered lecture. Very scarce.
