Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This compelling book investigates the connections between tuberculosis and creativity in the lives of great literary geniuses, such as John Milton, Edgar Allan Poe, and Robert Louis Stevenson. The author examines how the psychological effects of the disease, often described as the spes… phthisica, may have influenced and inspired some of the most remarkable works of literature and art. By uncovering the historical and contextual evidence, the book shines a light on the complex relationship between illness and artistic brilliance, providing unique insights into the lives and minds of these iconic figures. Through this exploration, the book not only contributes to our understanding of these individuals but also broadens our perspective on the human experience of creativity and resilience. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
