Front cover is spotted and stained, and there are several tiny holes in the cloth along the front spine edge. Previous owner's name. Inside clean. The poet was a Canadian soldier from Almonte, Ontario who was prevented to being on the front lines with the others from his regiment (Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry) by a bout with influenza. When he was finally fit for duty, excellent marksman Sergeant Brown was sent to the trenches in France (St. Eloi), where he died on the first day. There are 13 poems in this little book. 79 pp. Scarce. Size: 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Book.
