Political Prisoner is an account of the fifteen years he spent in near total isolation, and the brutality he witnessed. Most moving is the chapter on falling in love with a woman in a neighbouring cell (through the seemingly time-honoured method of tapping on the walls). We can find no record of a co-author, but the inscription is both warm and intriguing.
