A work by George Rose (1744-1818), being his political observation on the historical writings of Charles James Fox (1749-1806), to which…he adds a second work by Sir Patrick Hume, 1st Earl of Marchmont (1641-1724): a narrative of Argyll's Rebellion in 1685 (which also includes a 78-page appendix with supporting materials). Sir Patrick Hume had been a participant in Argyll's Protestant rebellion, collaborating with Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll. This narrative was amongst the family papers which were given by Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont, to George Rose.
