Der Maler und Illustrator Leopold Hugo Bürkner (Dessau 1818 - 1897 Dresden) besuchte ab 1837 die Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. In der Düsseldorfer Akademie war er ein Schüler von Karl Ferdinand Sohn, bevor er 1840 nach Dresden ging. Hier kam er m…it Ludwig Richter in Kontakt, mit dem er später zusammenarbeitete. Im Jahr 1846 wurde er Lehrer und neun Jahre später Professor am Atelier für Holzschneidekunst an der Dresdner Kunstakademie. Bürkner war Ehrenmitglied der Wiener Akademie.- Der Maler und Kupferstecher Viktor Jasper (geb. am 30. März 1848 in Wien; gest. am 10. Oktober 1931 in Wien) war anfangs Buchhändler, bildete sich dann mit 20 Jahren auf der Wiener Akademie und später bei Louis Jacoby zum Kupferstecher aus. Eine besondere Spezialität Jaspers sind seine mit größter Feinheit und äußerst lebensvoll durchgeführten Porträtstiche.
