Green cloth boards with gilt on front and spine along with illustration of two boys talking a man with a peg leg. No reference on title page to illustrator but W. P. Hooper did the illustrations from many of the author's books, of which "Hooper" is sig…ned on the drawings. First edition thus as A. I. Bradley & Co. is listed as the publisher for this title in the 1894 Annual American Catalogue. Floral design end pages and front and rear, and the hinges are cracked in both of these locations. Front end page has a very small chip in upper right corner and there's a small numerical sticker in the upper left corner of the front pastedown. Table of contents page has a tear in the upper left corner, near the hinge area, which measures about 1.25 inches. Book condition graded as good. See photos. W. P. Hooper (illustrator).
