Granny's Hero by Salome Hocking London: Undated but circa 1890s, with Sunday School prize-giving inscription from 1899 on front free endpaper. Octavo/8vo, measures around 5" by 7" by 1/2". Pagination: 128 pp. Decorative orange cloth binding, with coloured pictorial detail and gilt and black lettering to front board and spine. Signs of wear, scuffing, some rubbing at edges and on hinges. Puckering to cloth, possible result of water or heat damage. Some marking. Also some discolouration to spine. Bumped corners. Some slackness to binding but contents reasonably firm. Page edges browned, scuffed and otherwise marked. Some marking to endpapers, abovementioned inscription front free endpaper. Some toning, a little light foxing, thumbing and other marking to page surfaces throughout but no underlining, marginalia, etc. See pictures for further information. 128 pp. Circa 1890s. n.

Condition: Good. No Edition Remarks. 128 pages. No dust jacket. Pictorial cloth with gilt lettering. Black and white illustrations throughout and similar illustration frontispiece. Prize plate stuck to front pastedown. Pages bright and clear with some tanning and foxing, particularly to textblock edges and endpapers. Minor pencil annotations to front pastedown and front free endpaper. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding remains firm. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping to corners, crushing to spine ends and tanning and staining all over. Spine sunned and gilt lettering is dulled. Boards are slightly bowed.
