Herbert Ernst Brekle (1935 - 2018) è… stato un linguista tedesco. I principali interessi di ricerca di Brekle riguardavano la semantica , la teoria della formazione delle parole, la storia della linguistica, la storia degli alfabeti occidentali e la tipografia. Studiò filologia inglese, studi romanzi e filosofia all'Università di Tübingen dal 1958 al 1963 e ottenne il dottorato nel 1963. Nel 1969 ottenne l'abilitazione anche all'Università di Tübingen, dove era stato assistente di ricerca presso il dipartimento di filologia inglese diretto da Hans Marchand; negli anni 1967-69 fu sostenuto da una borsa di studio post-dottorato della Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Nello stesso anno, Brekle fu nominato alla cattedra di linguistica generale presso l' Università di Regensburg, che mantenne fino al suo pensionamento nel 2001. È morto il 6 maggio 2018 all'età di 82 anni. Il prezzo del libro è comprensivo delle spese di confezionamento e spedizione mediante raccomandata tracciabile.
