Add to basketHardback. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 1929. First edition, first printing. xx, 208pp. Top edge gilt. Nearly a century after Emily Dickinson's birth, and after the publication of what was thought to be the authoritative Complete Poems of Emily Dickinson, her niece Martha Dickinson Bianchi discovered and published this collection of over one hundred and fifty more unseen poems. Among them are many of her most intimate love poems, evidently purposely withheld from publication by the poet's sister. Her niece and biographer, Martha Dickinson Bianchi, has supplied an introduction and edited the text with the help of Alfred Leete Hampson. The book is bound in the original dark green cloth covered boards with very worn and faded gold titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with shelf wear and some soiling to the boards and faint water staining on the front board. The corners are lightly bumped and the spine ends are more heavily bumped with wear to the cloth and a small bit of damage to the cloth on the rear spine corners. As mentioned above, the titling is worn and now very indistinct. The contents are tight and clean with some partial splitting down the spine gutter of the rear endpapers. There are extensive pencil notes on the rear endpapers but no inscription.…
