September 1848 des Mitgliedes der deutschen Nationalversammlung Heckscher (1797-1865), der von Erzherzog Johann als Justizminister berufen wurde, diese Stellung jedoch bald mit der eines Ministers für auswärtige Angelegenheit vertauschte. "Als solcher aber musste er an den lebhaften Debatten, die nach Abschluß des Waffenstillstandes von Malome im September des Jahres in der Nationalversammlung stattfanden, in erster Linie betheiligt sein. Man behauptete, daß dieser Waffenstillstand rücksichtlich Schleswig-Holsteins unehrenhafte und nachtheilige Bedingungen für Deutschland enthalte, und es galt das Reichsministerium diesen heftigen Vorwürfen gegenüber zu vertreten. Heckscher that dies während der mehrtägigen Debatte mit aller ihm zu Gebote stehenden Kraft und Geschicklichkeit und zeigte sich auch hier wieder als ein Meister des Worts und der schlagfertigen Discussion [.]" (ADB). - Durchgehend etwas stockfleckig. - ADB XI, 216ff.
