The Ingoldsby Legends is a collection of myths, legends, ghost stories and poems written supposedly by Thomas Ingoldsby of Tappington Manor, actually a pen-name of an English clergyman named Richard Harris Barham.Wikipedia. This second edition called the Carmine Edition on the title page…with the second edition preface dated Feb. 2nd,1843 by Goldsby has 16 engraved illustrations by Buss, Thomas Leech and George Cruikshank, famous artists of 19th century England. This copy is in good condition with the cover showing wear-abrasions on cover and corners, a binding that has been repaired but shows cracks and a rear cover that is barely holding on. The printed pages and engravings are quite clear of discoloration. The book will be carefully wrapped and boxed for safe shipping.
