A selection of letters written by the English poet and hymn writer William Cowper (1731-1800), whose command of the epistolary art was commented upon by his contemporary William Blake. In Everyman series. Not dated - Introduction dated 1925. In very good minus pale grey cloth boards, blind stamped Everyman logo to front, gilt titles to spine. The boards are flat, a little marked around the edges; slightly loose from weak hinge; spine ends show wear. The off white and olive green Reginald Knowles designed end papers are very lightly tanned. The text block has slight warp and is tightly bound, even and clean. Very good condition.
