Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a historical account of the inception and development of the National Peace Jubilee, a grand musical festival held in Boston in 1869 to celebrate the restoration of peace after the Civil War. The festival featured a massive chorus of 10,000 mixed voices, an orchestra of 1,000 musicians, and a childrenâs chorus of 20,000. The author, who was the festival's organizer, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges and triumphs of bringing this massive undertaking to life. He explores the difficulties of securing funding, organizing rehearsals, and overcoming logistical obstacles. The book also delves into the broader cultural and historical context of the festival, examining its significance as a symbol of national unity and healing in the aftermath of a devastating conflict. The author argues that the Peace Jubilee was not just a musical event, but a powerful expression of hope and optimism for the future of the nation. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
