Hardcover. Condition: Good-VG. 2nd Ed. (1st-1822). 119 pp. (1-4 in Roman); yellow early printed ownership label of Susanna Rogers with a rhymeto would-be borrowers of the book (ending in prose: 'Think seriously, keep cleanly, return duly, with the corners of the leaves not turned down'), a few brown marks on pp.114 & 116, , sl.splitting to fr.gutter but not affecting tightness of binding, no corners of leaves turned down, bottom edges close-cropped in a few places but text never affected. Unlettered red leather covers quite clean but some rubbing to extremities, edges & sp.darkened. An attractive little book written in dialogue form and in unusually good condition for works of this date and genre.

Quarter Green Leather. Condition: Good Minus. Dust Jacket Condition: N/a. Thirteenth Edition. 261pp, 12pp. A good minus copy of this thirteenth edition (1859). 24 mo. Frontispiece plate of Edward VI. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine . Bound in green quarter leather with green marbled boards. Rubbing to the board edges which are rounded and to the edges and head and tail of the spine. There is a split to the leather at the head of the spine for 0.5 cm. Contemporary ink name inscriptions to the front end paper and paste downs and '116B' to the rear paste down .The lower corner of the rear board has been creased with associated slight creasing to the adjacent page corners. Missing rear end paper with staining to the reverse of the frontispiece plate. Some pages have pencil annotation and marginalia. A good minus copy.
