Contact seller4-star sellerSoft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Ramon Adams reports the first edition to have been Chicago 1890, but that was from Henneberry in cloth, "rare." Van Allen Bradley reports two 1890 (?) paperback editions, one from Chicago (undated, as this one is) and one from Cincinnati (no place named), the Chicago cited as being a bit m…ore valuable. This softcover is indeed Chicago, but from M.A. Donohue & Company, seriously age-browned with text pages somewhat fragile, "fair," suitable as a study copy but likely not sturdy enough for casual reading. (Deeply browned.) Illustration to red, black and yellow front wrap signed "Edward Mason (Macon?) 99," which would certainly argue for a later print date. Ramon Adams, "Six Guns and Saddle Leather," calls this "a fairly accurate account of Burrow's life and activities." 194 pp. followed by 8 pp. publisher's ads including for 57 Horatio Algers through "Young Salesman," 15 Jack Harkaways through "Boy Tinker Among the Turks," (last in the series, 1900), 12 of Maj. Archibald Lee Fletcher's Boy Scout adventures through "Boy Scouts in Alaska" (last in the series, 1913) and (to the rear wrap) four books of James Otis in their Donohue editions, from "Down The Slope" (boy coal miner, 1899) through "Telegraph Tom's Venture" (1912.) Here reduced from $62. B&W engravings from photos (illustrator).
