The title page is signed by Phyllis Galembo with gift inscription on front flyleaf, addressed to Rowland Abiodun, Professor of African Art from Amherst College (who is thanked by Galembo in her written introduction to the book), dated 1997. The book was self-published by Galembo, funded by The Catalogue Project (1996) of the New York Foundation for the Arts. The book a softcover in Fine condition, with a stapled binding. The book has 16 total pages, with 10 color photographs accompanying Ugwu-Oju's essay. The book provides vibrant photographic examples of what kind of aso-ebi textiles are worn on during the end-of-the-year holidays in Benin City, Nigeria, across a variety of age groups. The book is lightly bumped at its corners, causing the tips of the corners of the pages and cover to be lightly curved. The spine is lightly rubbed at its ends. There's some rubbing of the cover ink along the spine. The text and photos are bright, clean and unmarked. The binding is in excellent condition. Signed by Author(s).
