Contact seller5-star sellerHardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. First Edition. A 1st edition hardcover bound in deep red cloth with sharp pointy tips. The spine ends are bumped, and there is some foxing along the page block. The 283 pages have some tanning; however, there are no markings or soil marks. The frontispiece features a color… painting of the Earl of Ypres, who is the illustrator of the other B/W drawings and illustrations throughout the book. The book is in an unclipped original dust jacket with repairs. The repairs have been made to the spine ends and the flap folds. The spine folds also have some flaking. The title and publisher are both fully visible, while the author is missing a small portion at the top of the spine. Krinkle marks on the front cover have been smoothed out, making the title fully visible. Jacket now protected in new mylar. This book contains a great deal of the history of regiments, and of individuals, which is not usually available to the ordinary reader. Our thanks are due to Colonel French for having spent so much time and study in collecting so many interesting facts and details, which make his book considerably more interesting for its personal touch than would be the case in mere history.
