HC 1st American edition, from plates printed in London. Soundly bound in original quarter black cloth backed spine and glazed yellow paper covered boards with p…aper title labels to cover and spine. Prior owner's engraved pictorial bookplate to front pastedown. Laid in at front are two different sized and designed programs from the same two week run Oct 16-28, 1922 at the Philadelphia Metroploitan Opera House. Both programs light worn, include cast, synopsis, details and photos along with local ads. Book is illustrated with tissue guarded color plates from art by Foster and with musical notation and drawings. Yellow paper over boards slightly rubbed through at corner tips; hinges a little tender. VG-.
