Oblong folio, [30] pages, patterned cream boards with title in silver, later rebacking in black cloth, its single gathering is detached from the binding. With 27 plates. This was a frequently revised and re-published work, promoting Colorado, and Denver, the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad, and travelers. Idntifying the first edition is a challenge. This original binding was done by J. G. Noble & Co., Denver. The marginal wash drawings were done by George Berger. These photographs are attributed to W. H. Jackson & Co., Jackson's firm. He remains one of the most respected landscape photographers of the American West In 2002, he was inducted into the International Photography Hall of Fame.
