Previous owner's name written on the front endpaper in black pen. Binding is straight and tight. Previous owner has highlighted passages on 19 of the book's 290 pages, in the chapter focused on Olaudah Equiano and one of the appendices. Pages are otherwise all clean and crisp, but have darkened to a cream color over time. 290 pages. This book came from the collection of Wilfred D. Samuels, who was Associate Professor of English and Ethnic Studies and the former Director of the African American Studies program at the University of Utah. Not terribly common.
