Neuware - This collection offers unique insights into the landscape of language teacher education and language teaching in the culturally and linguistically diverse Oceanic region.By foregrounding Oceania as a lens for understanding linguistic plurality, the volume examines how plurilingualism is shaped by colonial histories, contemporary mobility, Indigenous knowledge systems, and ongoing processes of social and educational change. Chapters feature research studies of such pertinent issues as linguistically responsive pedagogies, curricula supporting plurilingualism, language policy, language teacher agency, and the importance of taking account of language teacher, community, and stakeholder perspectives. In so doing, the collection offers a window into the challenges and opportunities of language teaching and language teacher education in the region, and the negotiation of competing linguistic, cultural, and educational priorities. The volume brings together a range of perspectives on engaging with Oceania's complex histories while advancing more inclusive and relational approaches to linguistic plurality. This book will appeal to students and scholars interested in plurilingualism, multilingualism, language education, language teacher education, language policy and planning, applied linguistics, and Pacific studies.…
