Y entonces, quizá sólo entonces, se vuelve algo visible y audible en la sesión psicoanalítica. . La transmisión entre generaciones suele ser uno de esos objetos invisibles en psicoanálisis. Podemos atisbarlo en casi todos los escritos psicoanalíticos, pero tal vez en formas que no nos permiten aprehender la presencia esencial de esta temática. Haydée Faimberg se propone mostrar su carácter obvio y necesario, tanto en el nivel teórico como en el clínico, en la experiencia psicoanalítica. . En el marco de la transmisión de conflictos entre generaciones, la autora estudia otro objeto invisible que podríamos calificar de complementario: la regulación narcisista de objeto, que caracteriza conforme a las funciones de apropiación e intrusión. . A lo largo de su investigación, y a través de múltiples ilustraciones clínicas, define un tipo de identificación narcisista inconsciente alienante en la cual tres generaciones están condensadas, telescopadas ; y postula que este fenómeno es universal y puede ser descubierto en todo análisis avanzado, explorando los secretos de familia. Tras estudiar los problemas planteados por el complejo de Edipo, propone el concepto de Configuración Edípica y su dimensión narcisista y revisita el mito de Edipo. . . En psicoanálisis, el analista escucha al paciente, quien a su vez escucha las interpretaciones y los silencios del analista. Más adelante, el analista escucha el destino de sus reinterpretaciones o silencios. Escuchar la escucha del paciente se ha convertido en el leitmotiv de la investigación teórica y clínica de la autora: buscar las preguntas adecuadas para lo que el paciente nos dice y no puede decirnos; lo que nosotros, analistas, oímos y no podemos oír; lo que no puede ser dicho pero insiste como repetición.
