Louis Botha (1862-1919) was the first Prime Minister of the Union of South Africa from 1910 until his death. Known for his pragmatism, he shifted from military resistance to political reconciliation, cooperating with Britain to stabilize the new state. His leadership helped define South Africa's early institutions and its decision to fight alongside Britain in World War I. The first English edition of General Louis Botha by Dr. Frans Engelenburg.
