The author François, Lord of La Noue Briord (1531-1591) was a French Huguenot, well k…now military chief and an author on the wars on religion. Translated by Jacob Rahtgeben. Not in Ebert or Adams. Graesse iv. p101. which also lists a translation into English in 1597. Brunet iii col. 824. Binding worn and rubbed. Corners bumped. A few contemporary notes in the margin. Marginal stains on p637-657 not affecting the text. Contemporary ownership on the title page and old handwriting clipped from the bottom of the title page leaving a few marks.
