Original Paper Covered Boards. Condition: Very Good. Second Edition. 1947. Second edition. vii and 54pp., interleaved with blank unnumbered pages for note. There are a further 2 blank pages for notes at the end of the book. The author of this work was Senior Assistant Conservator of Forests, Uganda. This check-list attempts to incude all the fully determined species of grasses recorded from the Protectorate of Uganda up to the middle of the year 1944, and it was hoped that its publication would stimulate interest to provide much further information. The first edition was limited to 200 copies, and this second edition corrects a few minor errors and the oppotunity has been taken to revise the naming of Imperata. The book is bound in the original paper covered boards with black titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear and some foxing to the paper covering the boards. The spine and about 1 1/2" of the spine edge of both boards are browned. There is some staining near the fore edge of the rear board. The contents are tight and clean with foxing on the endpapers and lighter foxing on the title page. A name has been written on the front free endpaper.
