21 cm x 25.5 cm. Frontispiece, XXII, 296 pages. 43 full-page-photographs, numerous line drawings. Colour map of Uganda Protectorate's annual rainfall tipped-in on front endpaper showing Uganda's Protectorate with its Average Rainfall. Hardcover [publisher's original green cloth] with lettering on spine and front board. Tree-like design to front board. Very good condition with only minor signs of external wear. Some soiling to front board near head of spine. Interior bright and clean. Binding is firm and strong. Includes, for example, the following: Bibliography / Glossary of Botanical Terms / Glossary of Vernacular, Common and Trade Names / Index to Genera and Species etc. The monograph is based upon the Eggeling's Doctoral thesis at the University of Edinburgh. Dr William Julius (Joe) Eggeling FRSE (1909 - 1994 ) was a Scottish-born forester, botanist, and naturalist. Eggeling was a dominant figure in the Uganda Forest Department in the 1930s and 1940s, and played an important role in nature conservation in Scotland during the 1950s and 1960s. (Wikipedia).…
