Subtitled: "A Story of a Single Soul, A Mortal Without a Name" this is a moral treatise written in a loosely fictional form, in which a son, saying "I am as you made me" strangles his mother to death. It opens with a description of New York City as "a great citadel of sin", an evil which ext…ends to politics where "the rich rule, who rob and tax the money for the benefit of the few" and presents mothers as essential to stand against this corruption, with an example of a mother who instead was evil herself. 118 pp. Near fine in dark blue cloth with gilt lettering in a very good dust jacket with light foxing overall, but otherwise little wear.
