Issued as a sales brochure for Basil Ede bird prints sold by The Warner Collection of Tuscaloosa, Alabama-based Gulf States Paper Corporation whose art collector chairman Jack Warner was an aficionado of Ede's work. I've Lived Another Year is a light-hearted, humour-laced story of author Jack Ede's outdoor adventures in New Zealand. Jack has so far accomplished in his life, the ascents of Mts Cook and Tasman, Mitre Peak twice, Mt Aspiring three times. Surviving falls, avalanches and cold rivers, Jack Ede shares these amazing stories beginning 67 years ago. Born in 1917 Christchurch. His father as a musterer started him on the road to a life in the outdoors. Gradually his tramping became more adventurous, & the CMC and Jack found each other. As an example of his commitment, when Jack walked the Milford track in the Christmas holiday of 1938-39, he first rode his pushbike from Temuka, through the McKenzie country, Wanaka and over the Crown range to Queenstown. THEN he tramped the Greenstone track, did the Milford track, and finally rode back to Oamaru from Lumsden. When in the mountains, Jack carried incredible loads, and was known for always being the one to turn to when you needed something unusual.
