Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. This open access book explains in detail systems and technologies for assisted and automated driving. It also provides an overview of the limitations of such systems concerning development processes and test tools. This description covers todays advanced driver assistance systems with environment perception in passenger cars, commercial vehicles, and motorcycles. This includes functional principles as well as embodiments of the components required for this purpose, such as sensors, actuators, mechatronic subsystems, and actuating elements. Additionally, data fusion concepts, environment representations, and user-friendly designs of the human-machine interface between the assistance system and driver are presented.New priorities are also presented concerning the development of automated driving. Although automated driving is based on the technology of advanced driver assistance systems, removing humans from the responsibility of driving induces entirely new challenges that also go beyond series technology. The variety of necessary innovative approaches is presented in example applications. The contentFundamentals of Advanced Driver Assistance System Development Virtual Development and Test Environments for ADAS Test Methods Sensors for ADAS Data Fusion and Environment Representation Digital Infrastructure Actuation for ADAS Human-Machine-Interfaces for ADAS ADAS on Guidance- and Navigation Level Automated DrivingThe target groupsAutomotive development and application engineers Students of automotive-electrics, -electronics, -mechatronicsStudents of mechanical engineering/automotive technologyStudents of electronics/ informatics/ information technologyThe EditorsProf. Dr. rer. nat. Hardcover. Condition: new. Hardcover. This open access book explores the recent developments automated driving and Car2x-communications are opening up attractive opportunities future mobility. The DFG priority program Cooperatively Interacting Automobiles has focused on the scientific foundations for communication-based automated cooperativity in traffic. Communication among traffic participants allows for safe and convenient traffic that will emerge in swarm like flow. This book investigates requirements for a cooperative transport system, motion generation that is safe and effective and yields social acceptance by all road users, as well as appropriate system architectures and robust cooperative cognition. For many years, traffic will not be fully automated, but automated vehicles share their space with manually driven vehicles, two-wheelers, pedestrians, and others. Such a mixed traffic scenario exhibits numerous facets of potential cooperation. Automated vehicles must understand basic principles of human interaction in traffic situations. Methods for the anticipation of human movement as well as methods for generating behavior that can be anticipated by others are required. Explicit maneuver coordination among automated vehicles using Car2X-communications allows generation of safe trajectories within milliseconds, even in safety-critical situations, in which drivers are unable to communicate and react, whereas today's vehicles delete their information after passing through a situation, cooperatively interacting automobiles should aggregate their knowledge in a collective data and information base and make it available to subsequent traffic. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book summarizes research being pursued within the Research Unit FOR 2089, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the goal of which is to develop the scientific base for a paradigm shift towards dimensioning, structural realization and maintenance of pavements, and prepare road infrastructure for future requirements. It provides a coupled thermo-mechanical model for a holistic physical analysis of the pavement-tire-vehicle system: based on this model, pavement structures and materials can be optimized so that new demands become compatible with the main goal - durability of the structures and the materials. The development of these new and qualitatively improved modelling approaches requires a holistic procedure through the coupling of theoretical numerical and experimental approaches as well as an interdisciplinary and closely linked handling of the coupled pavement-tire-vehicle system. This interdisciplinary research provides a deeper understanding of the physics of the full system through complex, coupled simulation approaches and progress in terms of improved and, therefore, more durable and sustainable structures.…
