The Battle of Cedar Mountain took place on August 9, 1862, during the Civil War. Confederate forces won the battle, allowing the reunification of the Army of Northern Virginia during the Northern Virginia Campaign, which helped ensure a Confederate victory at the Second Battle of Bull Run.
