Adopting this innovative two-fold approach that couples representation and dispositif, the home is studied as an architecture, as the place that embodies, defines and perpetuates the family history, as the milieu of gender and generational struggle, as well as the first site where manifestations of power unfold. All chapters contribute to explore, unpack the complexities, and expand on the richness encapsulated in the notion of domesticity and dwelling in its fascinating relation to moving images.

È il catalogo della mostra tenutasi a Fiesole (Museo Civico Archeologico Teatro Romano) dal 16 dicembre 2006 all'8 gennaio 2007 e riproduce a colori tutti gli 82 acrilici su… tela lì esposti. La pittura di Goggioli nasce dall'assimilazione critica di molte fonti: da Seurat, dal tocco magico, rivelatore di un universo ancora in parte inesplorato, da Ensor, neutralizzato nei suoi umori più corrosivi, dai maestri quattro e cinquecenteschi. In alcuni casi la fonte è rivelata, in modo da rendere esplicito il sottile gioco di allusioni operato dal pittore; più spesso, invece, resta celata in modo da rendere ancora più godibile la sciarada offerta ai nostri occhi. L'universo dipinto dall'artista è fatto di bambole, pompieri e soldatini, disaccorti automobilisti, ciclisti e personaggi vari, tutti rigorosamente di latta, ritratti con una tecnica precisa e raffinata. Per Goggioli il destinatario naturale delle sue opere è l'anima infantile residuale che continua a vivere negli uomini, anche una volta che sono diventati adulti. Egli ha imparato a giocare il gioco dell'arte, ha ironia per mischiare serio e faceto, ha mestiere per variare i temi di una pittura nella quale i giocattoli convivono con la memoria dei capolavori del passato. Tutti i suoi quadri, con il timbro della piacevolezza, nascondono spesso critiche al mondo contemporaneo, alla politica, oppure riflettono, con pacatezza tutt'altro che imbelle, sulla condizione dell'uomo e dell'arte.

Le carte conservate nell'Archivio Storico del Comune di Fiesole sono una preziosa testimonianza sulla vita del pittore tedesco Heinrich Ludolf Verworner (1864-…1927) e della moglie Charlotte Spinn (1873-1963), specialmente in relazione agli anni di soggiorno nella cittadina toscana. I due vissero a Fiesole, nella villa di Fontelucente, dal 1901 al 1927, anno in cui l'artista morì suicida. La pubblicazione riporta dati e contenuto delle lettere di Lotte al marito e della corrispondenza di Ludolf, a cui si accompagna una piccola collezione di stampe e negativi. Le immagini a colori in appendice riproducono le opere più celebri del pittore tedesco. A cura di Maura Borgioli.
