Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book is a collection of 2 plays from the early 18th century that provide a glimpse into the theatrical landscape of the time and a fascinating socio-cultural document on the theatrical tastes of the era. The first play, Le Defenseur d'Homere, is a playful but erudite comedy that cleverly combines ancient and modern themes, satirizing literary criticism and modern adaptations of classical works. The second play, Arlequin Colombine, is a lively farce that explores the theme of love and fidelity, following the misadventures of the title character as he tries to navigate the complexities of courtship and marriage. The book offers a valuable resource for scholars of theatre and literature, providing insights into the development of French theatre and the cultural sensibilities of the period. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Bibliographie : Bahier-Porte, Christelle. "Le conte à la scène". In Féeries, 4. 2007, 11?34 ; Martin, Isabelle. In L'Esprit Créateur, Vol. 39, No. 3, Automne 1999. pp. 47-55. Frottements, mors supérieur fendu en pied.
