Hardback, Good, in POOR unclipped dustjacket, with…heavy shelfwear, creases, staining, tears and patches of loss. Multiple tape repairs made from the inside with brown paper tape. Yellow cloth, a little discoloured to the edges, with blue illustration to the front and blue lettering to front and spine. Binding strong. Light tanning to endpapers. Small ownership name and address to ffep. Illustrated title page. 35pp., contents clean and bright. Marion Benedict Cothren (18801949) was an American suffrage and peace activist, lawyer, and children's author. Dudley, the grey parrot, and Gilderoy, the red-haired cat, were great friends. Dudley was a kindly creature; Gilderoy lived by his wits and by doing battle with rivals. One day they set off on a journey which involved trains, taxis, and roof-tops. Dudley rode part of the way in an old lady's hat, and for a time they joined her household, but their owners finally caught up with the runaways.
