He retired as Chief Engineer at Atbara, and was also known for his photography of the locals. Also the signature of (Dr.) Charles H. Gatty is present, a member of the Royal Geographic Society, as well as the Zoological Society, both in London. Covers show corner wear, with some loss to upper/lower spines edges.
