Taschenbuch. Condition: Neu. Neuware - 'Skylab is Failing, Skylab is Failing.' These were the reported last transmissions sent to the Federation from Skylab before transmission abruptly ended. Skylab is the name given to a tiered solar space station that hovers above our Sun. Its objective, to harness the abundant power of our closest star to provide limitless energy to our world. Fitted with the latest solar technologies, it has the capacity to convert Sunlight into electrical energy through photovoltaic panels. With only a skeleton crew of one hundred staff, Skylab is relatively self-sufficient. For the last one hundred years, Skylab has been doing just this, and results have been positive allowing Earth to become truly energy rich. Then recently, all contact stopped. The transmission was believed to be from a small group of Federation representatives, making their routine annual trip to the Skylab. The purpose was for the Federation to dock, observe all working practices, assess maintenance issues and report back with any news. The trip also doubles to take new recruits and equipment as necessary and return any retiring staff and obsolete machinery. The last report came shortly after docking with those words and a single image of a Void ship near Skylab. This will require investigating as this Void ship may well be the cause to the loss of contact. Best case scenario is the Void ship is a coincidence, and Skylab is suffering communication issues, but worse case is that Skylab has been overrun by Chaos Spawn from the Void ship. There was one other clue within the last transmission. Whenever contact is made, it also reveals the location of Skylab as it moves in orbit around the Sun. The last transmission revealed that Skylab was in fact closer to the Sun than is should have been having clearly deviated from its correct path. This may indicate that the stabilisers are failing, and Skylab is slowly falling into the gravitational pull of the Sun. This may explain the final transmission. The Federation Supervisor was personally overseeing this recent trip, if there is any chance the Supervisor can be rescued, it must be attempted. Therefore, your objectives are, establish the problem and ensure the safe return of the Federation Supervisor. Secondly, eliminate any threat of Chaos Spawn that may be involved inside or outside of Skylab. Finally, ensure the safety of the Skylab station and restore the stabilisers if they are indeed malfunctioning. If you can complete all three tasks, you will be heavily rewarded which could benefit your future operations with the Federation. A Needle Ship will be provided to make the jump to the location and as time is of the essence, you will be required to complete your mission promptly. Once you leave Earth, unless you can restore communication with Skylab, no contact will be possible with the Federation. Good luck.…
