Además, describe el modo en el que las grandes compañías afianzaron el capital que les permitía ofrecer préstamos a los gobiernos necesitados a cambio de concesiones ventajosas. Por último, como en cauce progresivo, el lector tendrá todo el contexto histórico y social que explica el encumbramiento de la United Fruit Company, la firma con mayor injerencia política en el campo de la producción de fruta y el transporte ferroviario y náutico. Esta es la historia completa del primer trust en América Central. LIBRO.

Dr. Lovejoy was an influential ecologist, field biologist, and activist; former head of the Amazon Biodiversity Center, World Wildlife Fund, and advisor to the United Nations and Smithsonian Institution. He is credited with introducing the term 'biological diversity' to the mainstream environmental movement. In addition, he was a passionate collector of books on the natural world.
