The Engineer intelligence mission in the Theater was accomplished, in general, through the execution of two functions: mapping, and research and reports. This volume treats these two functions separately within the time period devoted to each chapter. The contents address: Scope of Engineer Intelligence in the Southwest Pacific, Engineer Intelligence in the Philippine Defense, 1941-42, Engineer Intelligence Preparations in 1942, Engineer Intelligence in a Period of Progress, 1943, Engineer Intelligence Activities in 1944, and Engineer Intelligence in the Final year of Hostilities.
