A very uncommon title by Detmold and an exquisite collection of his animal illustrations. The plates include, The Superior Cat, Mrs. Hen and Her Family, The Fairy Squirrel and Mice, Plain and Fancy. Eleven farm and woodland friends are described and painted in total making this book a lovely addition to a children's illustrated library.
