Moore, who appears to have been Librarian of the Mercantile Library Association at that time. Otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Very neat -- a sound and handsome copy of a scarce and fragile book. Illustrated on each page of text with charming woodcuts -- drawn by Charles Christian Nahl, and engraved by Durbin Van Vleck. An interesting 3-page introduction by the poet's father, G. M. Bourne, known at the time as a hydriatic physician, gives a determined critique of harsh discipline in schools and a plea for more "Phrenological" ones. Tissue-guard present at half-title.
