Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. I was an easy target. You didnt have to be a trained sniper to take the shot. Easy Target Taming the Black Dog is the inspirational story of a young mans journey from being an easy target and victim of bullying to forging fortitude and resilience in order to battle the bullies and the black dog of depression. Adam bares his soul, sharing the heartbreaking and, at times, humorous moments that shaped his resilience. In a candid exploration of his experiences leading to a descent into depression, Adam reveals the decision to take his own life and the phone call that changed his destiny. Easy Target outlines the real-life steps he undertook to overcome his darkest days and reshape his perspective. Including poignant moments of self-discovery and his journey to recovery, Adams story is a testament to the human spirit's capacity for transformation and renewal. Enriched with contributing chapters by best-selling authors, Easy Target is a beacon of hope for others, an empowering roadmap to cultivating inner strength and a belief for a brighter future. About the Author Adam's life journey is a testament to resilience and triumph over adversity. At the age of 22, amidst severe depression and contemplating suicide, a pivotal phone call altered the course of his destiny. Twice saved from the clutches of the black dog of depression, Adam now shares his story of overcoming obstacles and forging fortitude. He is a firefighter with the NSW Rural Fire Service, lives in the foothills of the Blue Mountains and hosts the successful podcast, True Blue Conversations (formerly True Blue History). Adam hopes that Easy Target will empower others to cultivate their inner strength and face life's challenges head-on.A must read to nurture perspective and understanding of those around us and especially ourselves. - Paul de GelderEndorsements This book is a must read for anyone who thinks that `nasty words whether written or spoken dont leave a lasting legacy. When those words are critical, mean, and constant, the damage can run deep, and affect a persons life in ways that are unimaginable. But this isnt a sad tale that will leave you feeling flat It is a powerful story of someone who faced all those demons and came out on top. I have no doubt Adams honesty, courage, openness, and journey of self-help, self-discovery, and healing, will no doubt assist others that are struggling with their mental health. He has shared his darkest moments, and explained the constructive and helpful steps he took to regain control of his life. Bravo Adam.JOHANNA GRIGGS, TV Presenter and Beyond Blue DirectorA truly inspiring tale of one mans struggles to overcome lifes pitfalls. Adams story is full of heart-wrenching and at times, hilarious reflections which leave the reader feeling there is always a way forward, no matter how tough the road. Be prepared to laugh, cry, and take life by the horns!AMELIA ADAMS, 60 Minutes Reporter If someone had given me a book like this when I was a budding young man, I dont think I would have felt as lost and alone all those years. A must read to nurture perspective and understanding of those around us and especially ourselves.PAUL DE GELDER, Author, Veteran, TV Presenter, and International Speaker "If you were to look up the words 'courage' and inspiration' in the dictionary, there should be the name Adam Blum included in the definition. His is such a powerful story, told with such honesty and surprising humour for all that he has faced Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.

New York''s Hometown Newspaper was printed in an edition of 1,000 on the first anniversary of 9-11, to reclaim my birthday on the same day The newspaper contains articles, poems, drawings, ads, and all sorts of stupid beautiful shit solicited from over 100 physical artist friends and univocally accepted under the open editorial policy as birthday gifts. The back I BOMB NY logo is by the Bernadette Corporation. Looking back though, it is interesting how certain mainstream politicians have taken all our avant-garde strategies, DADA, Punk, Fiction, Surrealism, Performance, Wigs, even FAKE NEWS (homage: Yves Klein), squeezed the dear soul out of them, and weaponized them for their delinquent purposes. If that is really the case of our times, then what is the role of an artist today? Discuss." -- Artist's statement Very Good / Fine.
